Jason SG White Photography

Jason SG White is a photographer and contemporary artist based in Sydney, Australia. He was born in Wollongong, the son of immigrant Ukrainian parents, who were born in post-World War II Germany and came to Australia as refugees.

White's artistic expression is influenced by the desire to fully understand the impact made by childhood trauma on us later in life. Depression awareness is a topic that is very important to White, having suffered from long-term major depression. He uses photography as a tool to explore these emotions and try to come to terms with feeling different.

Over the past decade White has refined his skills photographing events, performances, portraits and artistic works. He has completed formal training at the Australian Centre for Photography in camera craft and lighting. White was a finalist in the Marrickville Contemporary Art Prize in 2008. His photographic work has been exhibited in art galleries around Sydney.
