About

Jason SG White is a Sydney Australia based photographer. Born in 1975, the son of Ukrainian refugees that came to Australia from Germany at the end of World War II.

Over the past decade Jason has refined his skills photographing events, performances, portraits and artistic works. He does photography not because he has to, but because he loves photography.

His artistic expression is influenced by the need to understand how early childhood trauma can cause long-term depression and anxiety. Jason’s art photography often touches on difficult topics, such as death, war, depression and cancer. Which he tries to balance with lighter topics such as cosplay, fashion and wildlife.

Jason first graduated from the University of Western Sydney where he studied a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Computing and Information Systems, and then from the Australian Centre for Photography where he studied Camera Craft and Lighting. His photography has been exhibited in art galleries around Sydney and he was a finalist with a self-portrait in the Marrickville Contemporary Art Prize in 2008.
